Superannuation: For women about to leave the workforce, the news isn’t great

August 31, 2018

“Today is Equal Pay Day, which marks the 62 additional days women need to work after the end of the financial year to earn the same pay as men.

While we have a lot to celebrate in terms of progress on equal pay, there is still a long way to go in bridging the gap — particularly when it comes to superannuation.

The gender pay gap in Australia is at its lowest level in 20 years at 14.6 per cent.

Women entering the workforce today have reason to feel empowered and optimistic.

But for women about to leave the workforce, the news isn’t so good.”
