Per Capita’s David Hetherington is chairing the People’s Inquiry into Privatisation. He spoke to Rosemarie Milsom on ABC Newcastle about the aims of the Inquiry.
Says David:
The aim of the Inquiry is to respond to a community concern that privatisation has gone too far, and to develop a people’s view of privatisation.
Typically the privatisation debate exists within the policy expert community, debated as an abstract concept, looked at only in terms of a financial rationale, or a cost benefit analysis.
We want a bottom-up grassroots approach to understand how privatisation affects real people and their lived experience.
He calls on people to come along to one of the public inquiries or make a written submission.
