Over the next decade, many baby boomers will retire – meaning, for the first time, we are about to see two generations of older, out-of-work Australians.
Living longer than ever before comes with challenges, such as a shortage of superannuation, too few aged care places, and increased pressure on governments as they try to pay an ever increasing health and pension bill.
Today the thinktank Per Capita releases a major paper focused on those challenges- suggesting that by the year 2050, 1.8 million Australians will be aged 85 or over.
