David Hetherington on The Drum – 5 Mar 2018

Are Australians genuinely ready to do something about housing affordability when that probably means driving down real estate values? David Hetherington stopped by ABC’s The Drum to discuss.

“We have an appalling track record on planning in this country, largely because planning sits across three tiers of government…you’ve got some of it at your local government level…then you’ve got state government and some federal interplay so it’s very complicated…what state governments have done really poorly is sell off land that subsequently has proven to be very valuable…they didn’t keep it an develop it in ways that were constructive for social infrastructure.”
