Peter Sutton

Peter Sutton was born in Shepparton VIC, and grew up at Cobram on the Victorian and New South Wales border.

He moved to Melbourne for university, and then worked in the Commonwealth Bank for over twenty years. He had various roles there, including as a Business Banker. He was also a member of the Commonwealth Bank  Officers Association which later merged with the Finance Sector Union. Peter had various roles there including Branch Treasurer, Vice President and President in Victoria.

In 2006, Peter was involved as a pedestrian in a motor vehicle accident and has a number of ongoing conditions.

Due to this Peter was unable to return to a banking career and worked for over 15 years at Myer. He was terminated from that position in 2018, and was on Jobseeker, and later went on the Disability Support Pension.

Peter has appeared before several Parliamentary Inquiries, attended a ministerial round table as part of the Jobs Summit and is an advocate for Raising the Rate.
