Grantley Taylor has worked at Curtin University for 18 years.  Before joining Curtin, Grantley spent two decades in the mining industry and three years at the Australian Taxation Office. Grantley is an expert in mining, International taxation, capital markets, sustainability and decommissioning. He has published in numerous high-ranked international journals in the areas of carbon, accounting, sustainability related finance and law, climate change, accounting and finance in the extractive industries, corporate governance, and corporate tax avoidance. His publications appear in high ranking journals that include Journal of Corporate Finance, Review of Accounting Studies, Journal of Banking & Finance, Management Science, Economic Modelling, Journal of Accounting & Public Policy.

Grantley participates in research and training activities in universities internationally. He has undertaken training and research at several international universities involving work in the area of environment, social and governance systems. Overall, he has published 55 journal articles and 3 book chapters. Many of the published articles relate to issues of relevance to society including policy and accounting and financial outcomes stemming from regulatory change having drawn upon his experience working at the Australian Taxation Office or in the mining industry. He has expertise and knowledge across alyernative financing schemes including green finance, digital financing involving tokenization and environmental accounting and has a number of PhD students working in the area of international taxation, environmental accounting and carbon emissions performance.

Grantley has developed and taught several undergraduate and postgraduate subjects in accounting at Curtin University. Over the past two years, he has undertaken training in the accounting, finance and taxation as applied to decommissioning in the petroleum industry.
