People’s Inquiry into Privatisation
September and August 2016
Per Capita is joining with PSI and their Australian Affiliates the CPSU, CPSU-SPSF, NSWNMA, ASU & ETU, Action Aid Australia and the ACTU to launch the People’s Inquiry into Privatisation.
Our services are under threat. Hospitals, schools, TAFE, Medicare, disability care – they are our public services but they can be privatised by politicians and run by companies to make a profit. Communities should have a say over how our services are run, and for whose benefit.
The Turnbull government has directed the Productivity Commission to conduct an inquiry into how to further privatise our public services, without looking at whether handing over control of our services to corporations is in the best interests of all Australians.
That’s why we’ve initiated the People’s Inquiry into Privatisation. We want to start a national conversation about the impacts of privatisation, and talk directly with communities about the services they need.
We want to hear from you!
Public hearings will be held around the country during September. Click on the link below to find the dates and locations to participate.
